what a great idea! this could be a great incentive for gyms to install such a system-they could extend the energy savings in reduced membership fees to customers as well

I have thought about this as well. The energy could be used to a) power the gym itself, or b) be sold back to the grid for a profit for the gym and to be used elsewhere.
