Yes, I love this ideal. In fact I read an article several years ago involving similar research. There is a research lab in Pennsylvania doing something similar with plastics, only instead of using bacteria they are using high pressure and steam to convert plastics in oil. It works great and would rid our landfills of a lot of garbage, problem is to scale the solution and build these all over the US takes massive amounts of money.
