As technology improves, consumer demand for more ways to recycle electronics continues. So last year, Geek Squad® doubled its number of recycling events. We work with commercial partners that handle the recycling process of this e-waste in order to give you smart options for disposing your electronics.
You can recycle cell phones, rechargeable batteries, ink-jet cartridges, PDAs, DVDs and CDs at any Best Buy store free of charge. Bins are located just inside the door and it doesn’t matter where you purchased the item.
Last year, we collected 45 tons!
When you have a new TV or appliance delivered, we’ll also take away the one you’re replacing.
Last year, we collected 7,500 tons of electronics and 22,000 tons of appliances.
That’s more than 30,000 tons of e-waste recycled through our combined efforts.
And we’re not stopping there. We’re hoping to collect even more this year and in the future. Let us know if you have any ideas to help us minimize e-waste.
