Little efforts here and there can go a long way to conserve power. Try remembering to do these simple things everyday:
- Unplug your cell phone charger when you're not using it.
- Unplug your laptop charger when you're not using it.
- Set your computer to go into sleep mode whenever you're not using it.
- Shut down your computer every night when you leave work. Do the same at home.
- Use power strips for your electronics so it's easier to turn them off when you're not using them.
- Turn off lights when you leave a room.
- Use compact fluorescent light bulbs.
- Air dry dishes instead of using your dishwasher's drying cycle.
- Wash only full loads of dishes and laundry.
- Install a programmable thermostat in your home and set it so that your furnace and air conditioner won't run as much when you're not at home.
- Purchase energy-efficient products.
- Put insulation in your attic.
